I am in my 15th year as an educator.

Education Background: After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in History from San Diego State, I stayed to earn my Single-Subject Teaching Credential from in Social Science. While doing my undergrad I studied abroad for a semester at University of New South Wales in Sydney Australia and did a summer abroad at Oxford University with a focus on International Relations.

Student Teaching (2009-10): During my teacher credential I taught 7th Grade Ancient History at Hilltop Middle School and 12th Grade Government at Chula Vista High School. After completing my credential I took a long term sub position at Hilltop Middle School teaching 8th Grade US History for a year with a teacher on maternity leave.

Full-Time Teaching (2010-2020): I started my first full time teaching position at Escondido Charter High School where I taught World History and Economics. Between teaching from 2010 - 2020 I also taught AP World History and AP European History. I built, submitted and received approval on my AP Euro Course Syllabus in 2013 and then again in 2015.

Flex Lab Manager (2016-2020): I helped build the Flex 4-day (now called CLP) Program at ECHS. While teaching  I served as Flex Lab Manager. We ran a hybrid online traditional model where students were taking classes through the learning platforms Itslearning and Edgenuity, as well as in classrooms.

Academic Advisor (2020 - Present):

I transitioned out of the classroom in 2020 to join out Students Services team at ECHS. I focus on the college counseling aspect, running college application workshops and being the point of contact for college visits.
